March is my least favorite month! There, I said it out loud for all the world to hear! I lived much of my life on the east coast of south Florida and every March the sugarcane fields in Belle Glade would get burned. The hot March wind from the southwest would carry the smelly, choking smoke through coastal towns. Although it is hard to believe, given today’s climate controlled homes, then we didn’t have AC and those smoky winds meant awful sinus headaches for me and little ash particles over the surfaces in my very clean house. UGH!
In the Bible, wind commonly symbolizes Holy Spirit (see Acts 2 in the New Testament) and that is a very good thing. March winds are also great for kite flying and that too is a fun and lively thing for both kids and adults. (Check this out: http://www.kite.org/events/calendar.) But sometimes kites get wild and they appear to be flying without integrity: sporadic and untethered. Yet if you observe closely you are able to see the string/s that tether it to the one who is ultimately in control. Hopefully, a picture is being painted in your mind.
I was one of those runaway, out-of-control kites for several years. Yes, I was a believer, but going through a season of rebellion and wild living. Just like a kite, our heavenly Father held firmly to my string. He gave me plenty of line but one sweet day He began reeling me in and the rest, as they say, is history.
All of that to get to a simple and fun principle to remember:
Keep: (Greek phroureo; Strong’s #5432) a military term picturing a sentry standing guard as protection against the enemy. We are in spiritual battle, but God’s power and peace are our sentinels and protectors. (1 Peter 1:5)*
It: Everything in our life.
Tight: the string between us (the kites) and Father (the Grounded One).
Every [day]: Moment by moment and do remember, A (wo)man’s heart plans her way but the Lord directs her steps. Proverbs 16:9
Let God have the string and …
Soar, baby, soar!

Excellent word. This a.m. my kite was in a spiral downward and I thought I was going to crash and burn. Praying, singing, crying out to my Bridegroom has helped. He is still holding tight to the string of my kite and I am trying to come out of the spiral.
Good word sister. In all things there is HOPE in the Lord. All our prayers are yes and amen in HIM>
Wow! these little tibits , I shall ponder in my heart. Going to write this in my Bble, for safe keeping. Thank you Honey! Love and Blessings!
You spoke directly to my heart, once again. Thank you and God bless the string
I'm glad He (our Heavenly Father) reeled you in and I'll be praying to "keep it tight everyday" and maybe to remind me, I'll fly a kite with my Grandson this week! Thanks for your encouraging words, Leigh
