3 Ways to Reach Your Fitness Goals Before the Year Ends

By  |  0 Comments

The New Year may be just eleven days away, but there’s still time to make good on your 2017 commitment to become healthier. Regardless of how much progress you’ve made toward your goals, the end of the year can be a great time to build on success and make progress. These three tips will have you ending this year and starting the New Year with renewed motivation.

Set A Short Term Goal.
Making a positive impact on your health can start in as little as seven days. Eating a balanced breakfast, drinking 8-12 glasses of water and loading up on fresh fruits and veggies each day can help you start to shed pounds and create healthy habits. The best part is, you’ll gain momentum and confidence that will make it easier to continue your healthy journey.

Be Realistic.
Trying to squeeze twelve weeks of weight-loss into a single week can leave you feeling discouraged, burned out and can potentially jeopardize your health. But don’t throw in the towel, because you don’t have to do it all at once. Focus on taking the steps needed to reach your goal instead of focusing on the actual goal itself. Go for a 20-minute brisk walk after dinner, replace at least one daily soda with a freshly pressed juice and take time to de-stress. All of these healthy steps will eventually lead to your ultimate goal.

Be Consistent.
People who are consistent, day after day, see more results in a single week than those who constantly start, quit, and then restart in the same period of time. It may be tempting to go all out for the last few days of the year but remember, small healthy changes that aren’t taken one at a time and maintained consistently, will make way for old, unhealthy habits to come back.

Although we’re close, the year is not over yet. With short-term, realistic goals and consistency, there’s still time to renew your motivation, create healthy habits and make some serious progress toward your goals before the year is over.
