Finding time

Working out can be tough, especially when you’re busy. This great routine, which you can do at home with no equipment, will help you stay in shape when you only have a half hour or less.

Step one

Start by stretching to loosen up your body. Always warm up before any type of workout, because new exercise regimens can strain bones and muscles. You could do push-ups, crunches or jumping jacks.

Home workout

Working out with home furniture can be a fun and creative way to get in shape. You can do “up-downs” and push-ups using your couch or chair.

Up-downs are done by turning so your back is facing the couch. You then squat down and put your arms on the couch backwards. Stretch your legs out and squat down so your backside is about to touch the ground. You can also do this with a sturdy chair to help use different muscles. This move works biceps and triceps without stressing your body too much with the use of weights.

You can also do squats using the couch, which guides you when to come back up. Turn your back to the couch and do a normal squat. When your backside touches the cushion, you’ll know to come back up.

This lower-body workout strengthens a variety of muscles, including thighs, calves and glutes.

Exercising releases positive endorphins in the brain, relaxing your body. It can also improve self-esteem by helping you feel good and look good.
