Meet Kimberly Anderson, May Reader of the Month

This self-described “proud Midwest girl” has created the fashion and lifestyle show Kim’s Closet.

I’m passionate about: Promoting self-esteem and delivering style advice in a format that celebrates everyday women and men.  I’ve always loved fashion and styling, but it wasn’t until I turned 39 that my passion become a reality when I created the show Kim’s Closet (www.KimsCloset.tv).

Favorite sugary treat:  Cake from Resch’s Bakery in Columbus, OH.

On my night stand:  A lavender-scented candle, a necklace that says “Believe,” a small notebook and pen (because I am always waking up with ideas in the middle of the night) a photo of my mom and dad and a box of tissues.

What is playing in my iPod: My nieces gave me an iPod for Christmas (they thought it was time that their un-techy Aunt catch up with the rest of the world!), so all the songs were loaded by them.  They include Jesse McCartney, Lady GaGa, Carrie Underwood, Fergie, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift.

Last family night…  We grilled out and danced around the kitchen with the children to their favorite song at Grandma’s: “Rockin’ Robin.”  Every time we go to Grandma’s, the little ones beg us to play the “tweet tweet” song!
