Celebrity Tresses

As designers spend time creating glamorous ensembles for runway shows they also give thought to the type of hair styles that can complement their garments. Groomed beautiful hair is an essential element for completing every look, regardless of whether your hair is short, natural, long, or wavy. Just as there are trends in clothing, there are also prominent trends in the world of hair that appear on runway models or the girl next door. This season beautiful ‘70s inspired hair has been resurrected!

Obtain the fabulous look of Beyonce and Julianne Hough in a few simple steps:

Step 1: Turn head down and spray freshly washed roots with volumizing or texturizing spray.

Step 2: Brush hair to work the product through evenly. Then blow dry hair straight, starting at the roots to get extra volume. Blow cold air at the roots to add volume. (Hair must be completely dry to achieve the style.)

Step 3: Separate and secure hair into three sections. To curl hair, use a wide-barrel curling iron. Starting with one section, take a one-inch portion of hair. Spritz it with styling spray or hairspray. Wrap hair around the barrel of the curling iron. (When you’re curling, make sure to leave ends loose to avoid a crimp mark.) Release the curl after about 10 seconds. (The longer you hold it, the tighter the curl.) After releasing the hair you should have a tight tendril.

Step 4: Continue to curl hair throughout while alternating the various sizes of sections. The difference in the curl sizes will provide a more natural “beachy” look versus stiff hair.

Step 5: After you have completed all the sections of your hair, apply cool air from your blow dryer while gently loosening the curls with your fingers (don’t brush them out). Top off your look with a light serum for shine and minimal hairspray to prevent frizz.

Follow those simple, fuss-free steps and you’ll be sure to make a statement this season from head to toe.

Go forth and be gorgeous.
