Expect the Best {from our 1st twitter party}

We’re throwing the best twitter party from 9-10pm EST on Thursday, September 9th—the best part is, you’re invited! Feel free to bring a friend or ten…there will be plenty of chances to win some really awesome prizes. I’ll be telling you all about those great giveaways next week, so stay tuned!
Maybe you’re wondering what a twitter party is, or even what twitter is for that matter, let me share a bit about how we’ll be hosting this conversation in 140 character increments. I promise, if I can figure it out {with the help of a sweet and ever so patient friend} you can absolutely join in—new to twitter or not.
First, let’s get you a twitter account, if you aren’t already tweeting your heart out. It’s a breeze…really. Just head here and fill out the form. You can either take the next three steps or skip each of them to get straight to tweeting. You’ll be prompted to confirm your account by clicking a link you’ll receive via email. After that’s handled, you’ll find the editors of Hope for Women tweeting this and that over here. Click “follow” and all of our twitterings will show up on your twitter home.
So, now for the how-to of partying twitter style. I’ve been told that using a different platform is easiest, so I’m going to recommend tweetgrid since you won’t have to sign up with them in order to use it. By clicking this link, you’ll be taken to the grid I’ve set up for our time together.
You’ll see all of Hope’s tweeting in the center column. The column to the left will display all the tweets from people using our hashtag, #hopemag. By including that little #hopemag in your tweets, they will be added to this column making it possible for others to follow along. You can enter your twitter name into the right hand column if you’d like to see your own tweets, as well.
Okay, now that we’re all set on how to attend the party, let’s go over how to join in the fun! It’s as simple as it sounds, promise. I’ll tweet a question, you’ll reply, and Stephanie Wright, our lovely Media Editor, will pick a random winner and announce their prize. My questions will look something like this, “Q1: How awesome is our God?” and your reply (@hopemag) should be posted like, “A1: So awesome!”
Stephanie will ask that any winners message us @hopemag with their mailing address. The “message” option can be found in the right hand side of our profile on twitter. Anything shared in a message is private.
Come by on Tuesday, or go ahead and subscribe to our blog, for details on the awesome items up for grabs! Expect the best!
