~Music for the Storm

We’ve all been there. As a matter of fact, most if not all believers are there right now. Right now, we’re experiencing a trial, a test, a valley experience or whatever you’d like to call it. Psalm 34:19 (KJV) states: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivereth them out of them all.” In other words, our Savior knew that we would experience “the sufferings of this present time”. Not only did He know that, He knew what. Hebrews 4:15 (KJV) states “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” No greater love. The Son of God, Who with His redeeming blood, is able to save us all, dwelt among us so He would know how to heal us. The beautiful part of it all is that He doesn’t just offer one type of comfort or method of encouragement. There are numerous voices in which the Lord can speak comfort to His beloved.
One of the most appealing avenues is music.
It’s a universal language spoken by every breathing soul on earth. Music extends beyond outward variations (race, gender, income, culture etc.) and reaches inward for the soul. It elevates and appeals to all senses, even accessing the emotional, mental & spiritual. You ever notice what happens when you hear your favorite song? You feel BETTER! That’s the power of music. Now if we were to reach a bit further and mix in Christ’s message, a message of hope, love, joy, peace and victory, imagine the outcome. That’s music for the storm. It’s the song that encourages you and lets you know everything will be okay. It’s the melody that helps you understand the importance of praising your way through the valley all the way up to the mountaintop. Now I’m sure you have some favorites. You have a song or an artist that never disappoints when life gets a bit rough. I have a few favorites myself that I’d like to share. The uplifting and positive messages that these songs offer have pulled me and many others through tough times. Each artist brings a different energy and a different vibe, but a similar message. That message? Hope.
Be blessed and stay strong!

Lord, You are my Hiding Place…You surround me with songs of deliverance….whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You! the group, SELAH….. THAT song was my life line during the time in my life that I wrote about in my September 13th blog.
Kezia, you are so right about music - it soothes the very soul of man & woman!!!
Music! I love it. Worship, praise, it can take a rotten day and turn it into something special. The evil one despises it when we sing, worship and praise. It gives peace, joy and HOPE!
yes indeed! Music does have its way of changin the mood. Its the words, the music, the harmony, etc… all intertwined that can just put you in a place…reminding you of who God is; How GREAT He is! I love the music! That causes me to think of a song… “How GREAT is our God” amen.
Ladies, thank you so much! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the article :0)

Danielle! Thanks much for stopping through and for your words
Music was a malignant melody in my past that I misused with my body. Today, music is an encouraging melody that I use to raise my hands, close my eyes & sing with my mouth—praises to our Wonderful Savior.
Wow! What a powerful statement! Thank you for sharing
