Recalculating Route

I recently purchased a new cell phone. With my new purchase, I took the time to explore new features on my phone. One feature that I am particularly glad I got was the navigational system. It is so interesting to hear the system give you step by step directions to your targeted destination. You can choose if you want to avoid highways, toll roads, and even traffic! ‘Now that‘, I thought ‘is unbelievable! I can use this to avoid Atlanta traffic? Awesome!‘
During the next few days of the learning phase, I found that I could also request the shortest route. I would use the navigational system even when I knew where I was going. It amazed me to learn that there was a better route than the one I had taken.
One day, I decided I would put the application to the test. As I was driving, I purposely got off the route and the navigational system said, ‘recalculating route’ and proceeded in trying to assist me to getting back on track to my intended destination.
Then, it really hit me! I realized in life we have our own built in navigational system. You see, when we are born, God already has a plan for our life. He already knows that we might not take the shortest route first. He already knows that we may go in the wrong direction for a while, too. He knows that we listen to the radio too loud and talk on the phone while driving so often that we miss that small voice saying, ‘recalculating route.’
My advice to you as a woman of God is to use the gift you have within to tune in to your “true” navigational system. Be willing to get in a place where you can hear the directions clearly and stay on the right path towards your destination.
Let God be your pilot and you be the co-pilot, receiving directions to assist in a safe arrival. Admonishing that you should always
trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. (Prov. 3:5-6)

I love the fact that God has the plan and we just need to spend time w/Him to follow His route. Thank you for that reminder Andrea!
Amen Andrea! Thank you for sharing this very timely post! I truly enjoyed reading it!
Andrea - This is a thought provoking post and so true. Often times we forgot who is the ultimate pilot of our life and take control ourselves.
Love the fact that when we have lost our direction, our compass and guide can put us back on the right track if we allow Him too! It’s in those times that we recognize that He is the author and finisher of our faith!
