This week I received an email from one of my Blog readers asking will she ever get victory over the enemy. This led me to think about how many times we are in situations waiting for God to give us the victory over Satan’s attempted, sometimes successful, attacks against us. I immediately got in the Word to remind myself about what God says about His children having victory over Satan. Today, I will share with you what God says about Victory!
“With God we will gain the victory and he will trample down our enemies.” (Psalm 60:12)
Now that is a powerful scripture and the answer to the question of having victory over your enemies. If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you already have the victory! Being saved doesn’t mean that you won’t have tribulation because according to James 1:2 we will! God wants us to activate our Faith in Him knowing and trusting that He will deliver us from Satan’s hands in any situation. He wants us to remember that He promises that we walk in victory because He will never leave us nor forsake us.
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:57-58)
In the midst of your situation, it may seem like Satan is victorious one but that is far from the truth. Satan thought that that he had the victory when he tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden and when Jesus was crucified. In three days, God turned Satan’s false victory into defeat when he resurrected Christ from the dead. Jesus got the ultimate victory and because we belong to Him, we are able to walk in that victory. Satan can only have power over us if we allow him to.
Satan attacks the ones that have a purpose and a destiny in God’s kingdom. Satan is aware of the blessings that God has in store for those that love Him and have been called to His purpose. He wants you to get off track and begin to doubt God. Many times, God allows us to go through tribulation to strengthen our faith and trust in Him.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4)
You already have everything that you need to walk in the victory that God granted you! So how do you walk in that victory? Let me tell you.
The first thing is to execute your faith. You have to know that God is going to bring you through! You must remain persistent in prayer. Satan sure is persistent with his attacks so we must be persistent in fighting back. Use your sword (The Word of God) and command Satan to loose you! Your words have power (Proverbs 18:21)! The last thing that Satan wants to hear is The Word of God. You can’t say it when you need it if you don’t know it! You must continue to walk in obedience; otherwise God isn’t always going to fight for you. You must be in full submission of His will. “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). The enemy attacks you in your most vulnerable areas. You have to stay prayed up! This prepares you to fight if you must! God will anoint you with His supernatural power to have victory over any enemy that comes your way. You must be ready and willing to fight and be not afraid! With God, you can handle whatever the enemy brings and you will walk in your victory!
